1 week workshop
1-week Movement Directing Course
The workshop is a full-time program, designed as a lab with practical sessions, lectures and discussion forums.
It is highly practical and designed to fully immerse students in learning movement, coaching and actor training.
Be prepared to live, eat and breathe movement for the entire duration of the course!
We are welcoming dancers, movers, choreographers, physical theatre actors, contemporary circus performers, musical theatre performers, performance artists from all over the world who wish to improve or diversify their skills and knowledge, as well as practitioners from an allied sport/practice who need a deeper understanding of movement in contemporary performance.

You may expect to encounter different movement and directing techniques varying from the principles of traditional theatres to the modern approaches. Practical sessions are designed to enhance skills as both a movement teacher and movement director.
At this program:
- Learn how to tell a story through the actors’ bodies and movement;
- Develop deep understanding of the actors’ movement;
- Learn composition of the movement on stage;
- Research the connection between physical action and voice, gesture, movement, dance and word;
- Explore approaches to unfolding the actor’s creative nature;
- Apply your knowledge to work with actors.
The training is designed as a multidisciplinary intensive lab with participation of and practice with performers from different techniques.

The Ostrenko Brothers’ Method is a systematic approach to performance, which generates innovative productions utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. How experienced do I have to be in order to apply?
Every application is considered individually. We are open for advanced and professional actors, performers, directors, dancers, choreographers. Please be clear in your application about your experience. Other than requesting a minimum age of 18 years old, we have no age limit.
How many people are there in each workshop?
The group size can vary depending on both the size of the studio and the type of workshop given.
What is the deadline for application?
We accept applications on the regular basis. However, it is suggested to apply early because the participation fee increases as the start dates of some educational programs approach.
Who covers my accommodation and travel costs?
ArtUniverse does not cover accommodation and travel costs.
